Are you always complaining that you have nothing to wear, but your closet is jam-packed full of clothes for every occasion? Do you have an overabundance of gadgets, gizmos, knickknacks and home decor? Or worse yet, do you buy items and then forget about them, only to find them under your bed with the price tags still on? If you answered "yes" to any one of these questions, you may just be a "shopaholic." This shopaholic test can help you determine if your shopping tendencies serve emotional, rather than practical needs.

German psychologist Emil Kraepelin classified this habitual syndrome of excess shopping as a disorder, terming it "Oniomania." Even though shopaholism has historically been overlooked as a true disorder, studies estimate that one in every twenty people engages in impulsive and often unnecessary spending. Such individuals lack the necessary self-control to step away and resist the urge of buying a desired item - even at the expense of their finances or relationships.

This test is made up of two types of questions: scenarios and self-assessment. For each scenario, answer according to how you would most likely behave in a similar situation. For the self-assessment questions, indicate the degree to which the given statements apply to you. In order to receive the most accurate results, please answer each question as honestly as possible.

After finishing the test, you will receive a Snapshot Report with an introduction, a graph and a personalized interpretation for one of your test scores. You will then have the option to purchase the full results.
