"To see a world in a grain of sand And a heaven in a wild flower Hold infinity in the palm of your hand And eternity in an hour." - William Blake (Auguries of Innocence) |
Bonding with Mother Nature Feeling run down and stressed? Got a case of the blues or the humdrums? Or just looking for more sunshine in your life? How about making time to stop and smell the roses, literally? Whether you live in the country or a bustling metropolis, there is certainly some oasis of calm you can escape to from time to time. Trees, grass, birds and flowing water (or whatever wonders of nature you can find - even snow and icicles) can have an extremely powerful effect on our psyche. Fleeing the world of blaring TVs, phone calls and traffic for a simple half hour a few times a week to revel at the beauty of Mother Nature's creations has innumerous benefits: it can help us relax, give us a little exercise, allow us the time and distance to put our problems in perspective, boost creativity and simply help us experience more joy. So put on those hiking shoes (or skis or water wings) and get out there and breathe the fresh air! Better yet, make a habit of it - you never know what you'll discover about yourself or the universe. by T.L. Scribe |

Give a problem its due consideration but don't over-think it. Rumination is a trap.
