"The universe is full of magical things patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper."

Under a Spell A friend and I recently got into a somewhat heated discussion about infinity and whether there is life on other planets, not your typical tea-time conversation, but it made me realize how seldom I think about all the enigmatic questions that humans have yet been unable to answer. There are people who say science has already solved the big mysteries of life, but I say they must be blind! So much is still unknown, and while that can be a bit scary at times, it is also what keeps life interesting. Nobody knows for sure why humans, for example, have complex emotions while animals do not. (Not that we know of anyway!) There are so many big questions to ponder, which leads us to the realization that the world is really a very magical place. We CAN'T explain everything by science, and even the smallest everyday event (like a blooming plant or the unique complexity of a snowflake ) can leave us in awe and wonder - if we take the time to notice it. Have you even given a thought to all the WHYS and HOWS of the universe recently, or paid attention to the small miracles that happen around you everyday? They may seem normal to you (after witnessing them for a lifetime) but they are deserving of your admiration. Stop and smell the flowers from time to time, and open your mind to the fascinating world we live in. by T.L. Scribe |
